Directors / Ben Scott

director portrait
A highly technical director, Ben Scott’s use of in-camera trickery and dynamic set pieces make his style instantly recognisable.

A graduate of the UK, National Film & Television School, Ben spent his early career as a production designer on international movies both large and small. His specialty is set building in far flung exotic locations.  Something which has during his career taken him to jungles, (The Beach), the Arctic circle, (Far North) deserts, (The Phantom Menace) where he headed up the planet Tattoine and pod racing sections. However, that doesn’t mean he is not at home with a good dose of 1930’s fashion (Cracks / A Good Woman).

Ben has been included on the BAFTA production design jury on multiple occasions, he has a Royal Television Society Award for Best Production Design, and has work in the permanent archive at the MoMA.

His first film as a director, 2016’s ‘Kaleidoscope’ for Red Bull Media starring BMX star Kriss Kyle, won a Cannes Lions Gold, AICP Award, and Creative Circle Gold. The film incorporated moving set pieces and dynamic filmmaking techniques to create something truly original and imaginative.
